Throughout our website, we have included ways that you can communicate with us by e-mail. The website, unlike our blog here, does not provide a way that we can exchange comments and in that way, have a two-way conversation. So, we provide e-mail links throughout the website whenever a question comes up during your visit. Personally, I cannot imagine visiting our website in its more than 100 web pages without a question coming up. But perhaps I’m wrong. I may be too inquisitive. 🙂
But here in our own blog which is bilingual, we have a variety of different ways that we can communicate.
First, there is the LIKE button. The LIKE button gives you a quick way that you can tell me that you like something about the article or posting. When you use the LIKE button, you are delivering two messages: “Thanks for taking the time to write this article. I like it.”
Second, there are the social networking buttons (LinkedIN, FaceBook, Twitter, Google+1) that you can use to share a particular article on our blog with your friends on your social network. Of course, this delivers a message to your friends that the particular article was interesting which is also a message to us that you appreciate our articles.
Third, there is the FOLLOW capability. Just below the top of the side bar, you will see a message that reads “Click the FOLLOW button to follow this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email.” When you click the FOLLOW button, you will be asked to enter your e-mail address. In doing this, you are signing up to be notified whenever a new article is published on our blog. Here also, when you choose to subscribe to FOLLOW our blog, you are telling us that you think that this blog is worthwhile to visit. By the way, your e-mail address will not be shared with anyone else.
Fourth, there is the COMMENT capability. To us, this is the most valuable capability, the ability to talk back and forth with you. Your comment could be a simple “Thanks for this article!”, or “This reminds me of ….”, “In your article, you say “…etc, etc.,”, how can that be?”
So, my message to you is simple: please don’t be shy. Talk to us. While you are here, try each of the four ways of communicating: the LIKE button (unless you don’t like this article), share one of the other articles with your social network friends, sign-up to follow this blog, and leave me a comment that you have done all of these things… or better still let me know if you agree or disagree with this article and why. That would be a great starter! Most of all, let us keep our sense of humor. It will make life worthwhile.
